St. Cloud Apollo at No. 10-1A St. Cloud Cathedral
7:15 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 6
At Municipal Athletic Complex, St. Cloud

With its four-game losing skid long in the rearview mirror, St. Cloud Cathedral again looks like a state-tournament contender in Section 6A. The Crusaders have won five straight since early-January losses to arguably the top four teams in Class 1A, including an impressive 5-4 victory against Totino-Grace last Saturday. The offense has gotten on track, particularly leading scorer Will Hammer (18-18-36), who has four multiple-goal games and 11 total goals in those five games. Now the Crusaders must get past the defending Section 6A champions and neighborhood rival St. Cloud Apollo. The Eagles won with a high-scoring offense last year, but haven’t scored more than three goals in a game since before the new year. Apollo has tallied just 18 goals in its last eight games, going 5-3-0 in that span. Paul Kenney (11-15-26) leads the Eagles in scoring, but until a two-goal game against Willmar on Jan. 30, hadn’t scored since before the new year.
