Cretin-Derham Hall at Blake
3 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 23

Two teams with high hopes entering this season are looking to get back to winning ways when Cretin-Derham Hall visits Blake Tuesday night.

No. 15-1A Blake (2-3-0) played a light early schedule, although the Bears are still looking to get to .500. Goal scoring has been an issue, which was further impacted by the transfer of 25-goal scorer Cade Gleekel to Benilde-St. Margaret’s in the offseason. His departure left Mark Lyman (5-2-7) as the only returner with more than seven goals. Lyman has not disappointed and leads the Bears in scoring, but only Eddie Chute (4-1-5) and Johnny Ferguson (3-1-4) have more than one goal as only five Bears in total have lit the lamp.

After a slow start in which it was just 2-4-1, No. 16-2A Cretin-Derham Hall (4-4-2) has two wins and a tie in its last three games, and nearly doubled its goal total for the year. Nick Reis (6-11-17), Brett Huebner (5-7-12) and Cole Gnetz (5-5-10) lead the athletic Raiders. Much of coach Jim O’Neill’s roster is composed of multi-sport athletes.
