Blake at Breck
3:15 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 14

It’s been an up-and-down year for Blake, which has won two straight to claim some momentum heading into the Class 1A, Section 2 playoffs. A big boost to the Bears’ hopes would come should they knock off Breck on Valentine’s Day at Anderson Arena in Golden Valley.

No. 4-1A Breck (17-6-0) is the favorite in the section, although there are numerous other top-20 ranked teams in the section, as well as longtime rival Blake. In their first meeting this winter on Jan. 20, Breck earned a tight 2-0 victory behind a shutout from goaltender Stephen Headrick (17-6-0, 1.34, .928) and goals from Tyler Scott (16-12-28) and Dalton Weigel (4-17-21).

Blake (8-13-1) is anchored by multi-sport athlete Mark Lyman (15-8-23), who leads the otherwise young Bears in both goals and points as a senior.
