Hermantown at Greenway
7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 12

Greenway circled this game on its schedule a while ago, and entering Tuesday night’s showdown with Hermantown, the No. 11-1A Raiders are perhaps playing their best and most consistent hockey all season.

They’re likely going to need it all against the No. 1-1A Hawks (12-1-1) in this nonconference game sure to impact the Class 1A, Section 7 seedings.

Greenway (14-2-0) has won five straight since falling to Hibbing/Chisholm on Dec. 22, including three en route to the Schwan Cup Open Division championship in late December. Now, the Raiders are averaging 6.25 goals per game while allowing just 1.50.

Four players have 11 or more goals, including Grant Troumbly (16-22-38), Kole Kalisch (21-18-39) and Taylor Lantz (16-24-40), who all are pushing 40 points for the season.

Hermantown continues to play outstanding hockey, dating back to the start of the winter break. To begin the new year, the Hawks have defeated quality teams in No. 13-2A Grand Rapids and No. 9-1A St. Cloud Cathedral by a combined score of 11-2.

Senior forward Cole Koepke leads Hermantown with 18 goals and 17 assists, and junior forward Ryan Sandelin has 15 goals and 31 points through 14 games.
