Eden Prairie at Edina
3 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 13

The Lake Conference standings have been shaken up considerably in January, and Eden Prairie enters the regular season's final week holding fourth place in the five-team league, one spot and one point behind Edina but well behind conference leader Minnetonka.

The Eagles and Hornets have met twice this season, and this matchup serves as the rubber match - unless they meet at the state tournament next month.

Eden Prairie (15-6-2, 2-3-1) is coming off its worst stretch of the season, with a 0-3-1 record in its last four games. The losses and tie, albeit to elite teams in close games, signals a concerning trend for the No. 4-2A Eagles, a team that started the season as the near-unanimous top-ranked squad in Class 2A.

The biggest reason for Eden Prairie's recent stumble has been an inability to compete for three periods, and the Eagles have a week to figure out how to return to the form that has served them so well earlier this year.

Edina (13-8-2, 3-3-0) has taken its lumps this season, as the No. 10-2A Hornets have struggled to score goals consistently. After a stretch of four wins in late November and early December, they have not won more than two games in a row.

Sophomore forward and Gophers recruit Sam Walker (18-17-35) leads Edina in scoring.
