Mahtomedi vs. Hill-Murray
7:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 10

Mahtomedi evened its record late last week following a thorough 7-1 victory over South St. Paul. The win was a boost for the No. 6-1A Zephyrs (1-1) after a narrow 5-4 defeat at No. 3-2A St. Paul Academy to start the season.

Forward Luke Posner is enjoying a strong start to his senior year with three goals and seven points through two games. He’s one of nine Zephyrs to score more than one goal this season.

Hill-Murray has yet to put together a full three periods entering the week. Aside from a few veterans, the No. 14-2A Pioneers (2-0) bring a group of inexperienced players who help fill out the second and third lines. Sophomore forward Ben Helgeson leads the team with four points.

Mahtomedi hasn't given up a short-handed goal this season with nine penalty kills, a trend it looks to continue against a Hill-Murray team that has yet to convert on the power play (0-for-6).
