Grand Rapids vs. Eden Prairie
6 p.m., Friday, Dec. 16

Each matchup this weekend at Braemar Arena could be named as the Top Game, but this one is intriguing for the amount of high-end talent Eden Prairie and Grand Rapids possess at the forward position. Future Gophers Casey Mittlestadt (Eden Prairie) and Blake McLaughlin (Grand Rapids) skate with their own elite top lines, and both have helped their teams remain undefeated.

Eden Prairie has convincingly defeated everyone it has faced. The No. 1-2A Eagles (4-0) are converting on the power play at nearly 30 percent while outscoring opponents by nearly five goals per game (6-1.25). Forward Nolan Sullivan is the team’s top goal scorer with five while fellow senior Mittelstadt has three goals and eight assists for a team-high 11 points.

Grand Rapids (5-0) has been equally as impressive, outscoring opponents by more than four goals per game (6.2-2) and converting with the man advantage at 38 percent.

McLaughlin, a junior, leads the No. 3-2A Thunderhawks with eight goals and 18 points, and linemate Micah Miller, a St. Cloud State commit, has 16 points (6 goals, 10 assists).
