Delano vs. Orono
7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 6

Delano has brought all kinds of offense into the program's best start, helping it clinch the top stop in the Class 1A rankings for a second straight week. The Tigers (8-1-1, 1-0) are averaging 7.0 goals per game, and three players -- Ben Meyers (22-24-46), Brian Halonen (18-21-39) and Josh Keranen (12-19-31) -- have already hit double-digit scoring totals. Meyers, a senior forward and Maine commit, leads the state in both goals and assists.

Orono had a five-game winning streak snapped last week in a 2-0 loss at East Ridge. Despite the setback, the No. 13-1A Spartans (6-3) played very well in December and are outscoring opponents 3.33-1.78 heading into the new year.

Junior forward David Burns (8-3-11) is averaging nearly a goal per game to lead Orono's offense.
