Roseau vs. Brainerd
6 p.m., Friday, Jan. 6

After a troubling 0-3 start, Roseau (8-3, 2-1) has won eight straight games, including victories over Mariucci Conference and Class 2A, Section 8 rivals Moorhead and Bemidji, and enters January as perhaps the hottest team in northwest Minnesota.

The No. 20-2A Rams' offense has been steady, averaging 4.73 goals per game, and Bryden Stoskopf has already tallied 13 goals and 27 points through the first 11 games.

Brainerd is coming off a huge 2-1 victory over Bemidji last week, a win that should keep the Warriors in the race for a top-tier seed in Section 8. Brainerd (7-4-1, 4-0-1), which also has a 4-1 loss to Bemidji in the season opener, has defeated Moorhead, so a win over red-hot Roseau could strengthen its position when the seeding process starts.

Junior forwards Jack Evans (5-14-19) and Matt Fischer (9-6-15) lead Brainerd’s offense.
