Lakeville North vs. Stillwater
7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 31

Lakeville North (14-3-2, 10-1) suffered a setback last Saturday when Burnsville came calling and left town with a 5-2 upset, snapping an eight-game winning streak for the Panthers.

Four different skaters have double-digit goals for the Panthers, ranked No. 6 in the Class 2A coaches’ poll. Junior forward Blake Brandt (19-19-38) has stepped up, scoring 13 goals in January. Senior captain Henry Enebak (14-21-35), a St. Cloud State commit, has been solid on the top line.

Stillwater (16-2, 10-1) saw its perfect season go up in smoke in the middle of the month when the then-top-ranked Ponies fell to White Bear Lake (Jan. 14) and Eden Prairie (Jan. 21) on back-to-back Saturdays.

Despite the losses, the No. 3-2A Ponies are still humming along at both ends of the ice, with a 4.83 to 1.50 goals differential to prove it.

Noah Cates (14-26-40) and Matthew Stanton (14-19-33) are the top producers on the Ponies’ high-powered offense, while senior goaltender Seth Eisle is having an outstanding season, posting a 14-2 record, a .926 save percentage, a 1.27 goals-against average and four shutouts.
