Buffalo vs.

St. Michael-Albertville

2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 10

Whenever teams from neighboring communities meet — no matter the strength of the two programs — there’s bound to be some excitement.

That was the case when Buffalo hosted St. Michael-Albertville on Jan. 9 in a game that was capped by Cody Kelly’s overtime game-winner that gave the Knights a 4-3 victory.

St. Michael-Albertville hasn’t cooled since, winning six of its next seven games. The No. 19-2A Knights (14-5, 6-0) are unbeaten in the Mississippi 8 Conference and can unseat the league-leading Bison (11-10, 6-2) with a win Saturday.

Minnesota commit Jake Braccini (16-11-27) found his scoring touch over the holidays by netting eight goals in four games, but he's struggled to score in Buffalo’s past four games. A rivalry game could be what the sophomore star needs to reignite his offensive drive.
