Class 1A, Section 7
Two-time defending state champion Hermantown (17-6-2) was awarded the top seed in Class 1A, Section 7 on Friday in a vote of Class 1A, Section 7 coaches. The Hawks enter the postseason ranked No. 1 in the small-school coaches’ poll.
Greenway (18-7) took the other first-round bye as the No. 2 seed and is ranked third in Class 1A. Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl (15-9-1) is the No. 3 seed, while No. 4 Duluth Denfeld (10-15) rounds out the top four seeds.
Hermantown has won eight consecutive section titles and the past four in Section 7.
