Two of the state's top goal scorers collide Tuesday when Monticello faces Becker/Big Lake.
Monticello’s Troy Dahlhemier is No. 8 in Minnesota in points (20), and his 13 goals are tied for sixth in the state. Jeff Henrikson (3-6-9) and Nick Foldesi (2-7-9) add a second layer of offense, which has outscored its opponents by a goal a game. Henrikson scored a goal and Foldesi notched two assists for the Moose in a 4-2 win over North Branch last Saturday.
Monticello (4-3-1, 2-2-0) will need Dahlhemier and his teammates to score and put plenty of distance between it and the Eagles on Tuesday, as the Moose are is just 1-2-1 in one-goal games, including a 1-0 loss at Orono on Dec. 8.
Becker/Big Lake, however, has the attack to keep pace — with the team averaging 5.14 goals per game and outscoring opponents 36-18. The Eagles (5-1-1, 3-0-0) seem comfortable in close games and own a 1-0-1 record in one-goal contests.
Corbin Kollar (11-2-13) leads the offense, and is joined by Tyler Ruppellius (3-10-13) and Tyler Schmitt (3-5-8).
