Providence Academy vs. Holy Angels

7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 22

Providence Academy’s offense has produced big numbers, but its defense has struggled, resulting in a less-than-stellar record.

In a matchup Saturday against Holy Angels, the Lions have a chance to start turning around their record and the show off two of the state’s top point producers.

Zachary Giesler is tied for second in the state in points (22) and tied for fourth in goals (13); Grant Ellings is tied for a state-best 14 assists. The duo have stoked a Providence Academy's offense averaging 4.29 goals per game. The Lions (1-6), however, allow an average of 6.43 goals per game.

Owen Neuharth leads Holy Angels in goals (6) and points (12). Goalie Matthew Syverson has a 2.63 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage, getting all of the minutes in goal for the Stars (4-2).

Providence Academy beat Holy Angels 4-2 in last year’s meeting.
