As teammate Pete DeCenzo said, “I don’t ever remember him having a bad game.” The steady Baker played in the 1974 state tournament and one year later helped Grand Rapids clinch its first state title. “I’ll bet he wasn’t on the ice for a goal we gave up that whole tournament,” teammate John Rothstein said.
