Duluth Denfeld vs.

Cloquet-Esko-Carlton

7:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 5

Duluth Denfeld owns an unblemished record thanks in large part to the McClure twins, Cooper and Connor. In their first season playing varsity hockey, the McClures have already combined for 20 points and both rank near the top of the state’s scoring charts.

The Hunters (3-0-0, 0-0-0) haven’t cracked the top 10 in the Class 1A rankings, but victories over Greenway (on Tuesday) and Cloquet-Esko-Carlton (on Thursday) would likely catch the attention of the coaches who vote in the weekly poll.

Cloquet-Esko-Carlton (1-0-1, 1-0-0) has a skilled lineup led by forwards Aaron Moore and Christian Galatz, each of whom have scored two goals. Senior Owen Carlson, who has a .932 save percentage, has been solid in goal.
