Red Lake Falls vs.

Kittson Central

7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 10

First team to 10 goals wins? There’s a bumper crop of small-school scoring phenoms toiling in anonymity in the far northwest reaches of the state, led by Kittson Central’s Calvin Hanson. He leads the state in scoring with 12 goals and shares the points lead with 18.

Red Lake Falls’ Zak Kennett also has 18 points, two more than linemate Ty Kennett. The Eagles (3-2-0, 1-0-0) have three or more goals in all but one of their games.

Undefeated Kittson Central (4-0-0, 0-0-0) has scored, nine, nine, nine and five goals in its four games. Hanson, a junior who acquainted himself well while competing with the state’s best talent in the Upper Midwest High School Elite League this fall, has games with four and five goals this season.
