St. Paul Johnson vs.

Gentry Academy

7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 31

These two programs are polar opposites in most every way, other than the fact they are in the midst of successful seasons and both play out of Class 1A, Section 4.

St. Paul Johnson (15-4-0) is a public school with a rich hockey tradition (four state titles in the tournament’s early years) while Gentry Academy (15-3-0) is a north metro-based private school in just its second season.

Both teams can score. Junior Blayde Pogreba leads the Governors with 24 goals and 34 points. Junior Damon Furuseth is Gentry Academy’s top scorer with 22 goals and 38 points.
