The speedy, lanky (6-foot-1, 174 pounds) Liffrig scored 32 goals and added 42 assists last season as he helped Mankato East reach the state Class 1A tournament for the second time in three years. His 74 points is the third most of any of the state’s returning players, second only behind Red Lake Falls’ Kennett brothers (Zak and Ty).
