Joey Pierce

Pierce is big (6-foot, 187 pounds), strong and a little bit nasty — a beast to play against. A gifted skater, he’s got more than a little scoring ability, too. His 55 points last season are the most of any of the state’s returning defensemen, and his 16 goals are third most. The Minnesota Duluth commit spent the fall splitting time between playing for Velocity Hockey Center in the Upper Midwest High School Elite League and the Minnesota Wilderness of the North American Hockey League (NAHL).
