No. 19 Bloomington Jefferson at No. 3 Lakeville North
7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 28
At Ames Arena, Lakeville

When the next state rankings are released, Lakeville North could very well leap all the way into the top spot. The surprising Panthers have reeled off a 15-game unbeaten streak (14-0-1) while totally shutting down some of the top teams in the state. In those 15 games, coach Trent Eigner’s squad has allowed only 20 goals and posted six shutouts, including whitewashings of highly-regarded Eden Prairie, Hill-Murray and Prior Lake. North also defeated Jefferson, 5-1 on Dec. 28 in the Sports Authority Holiday Classic in St. Louis Park behind a three-goal third-period outburst. The Panthers are getting scoring from multiple sources and playing a tight defensive game, the key to their run. Jefferson has been buoyed by the return of leading scorer Johnny Panvica (8-18-26) from injury.
