Gearen's two goals and 31 saves by Frattlone lead Red Knights efforts.

ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. -- Benilde-St. Margaret's completed a sweep of its two games in the North/South Challenge by defeating Hermantown, 5-2.

The Red Knights got off to a fast start as Ryan Gearen scored twice in the game's first five minutes, 31 seconds, with the latter of his two goals coming while BSM was short handed.

The Hawks cut the lead in half just 1:34 into the second period but Kieran Wickner's first goal of the season restored the two-goal marging.

Mason Baldwin registered an assist of Wickner's goal and then set up A.J. Pauly's power-play tally with 2:01 to play in the middle stanza, sending the Red Knights into the second intermission with a 4-1 lead.

Charlie Frattalone turned aside 31 shots to backstop the Red Knights' win.

Hermantown again scored early in the period to cut the lead in half but Quinn Schliesman tallied at the 6:53 mark of the final period to finish the scoring.

While the offense was posting its highest goal total of the season, Charlie Frattalone was turning in a stellar effort in goal. He stopped all 11 shots he faced in the opening period and made 12 and eight saves, respectively, in the final two period.

BSM is home again, Wednesday, when it will play host to St. Thomas Academy in a 5 p.m. contest.
