Top games: Red-hot Blake, Blaine in midst of TV-worthy seasons

We task our reporters with identifying several intriguing games throughout the state to assemble our Top Games of the Week. The matchups are presented in no particular order, and when there are additional games we want to highlight, we’ll include them with brief notes.






Other games to keep an eye on

Burnsville vs. Rosemount, 7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 16. Twenty-goal scorer Luke Levandowski leads No. 1-2A Rosemount (13-3-0, 6-2-0) against another talented South Suburban Conference opponent in Burnsville (9-3-2, 5-2-2).

Chaska vs. Benilde-St. Margaret’s, 2:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 18. Consistency has not been a calling card for either of these teams, but Chaska (6-8-1, 1-1-0) has gotten reliable scoring from freshman Jimmy Snuggerud (11-10-21) while Benilde-St. Margaret’s (7-5-2, 0-0-0) has one of the state’s elite goaltenders in junior Carson Limesand (.925 save percentage).

Hermantown vs. Greenway, 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 14. Senior Blake Biondi (41 points) leads No. 2-1A Hermantown (9-1-4, 2-0-0) against Greenway (5-9-0, 4-0-0) and top scorer Ben Troumbly (20 points) in a potential Class 1A, Section 7 title game preview.
