Top performer winner

Aaron Loch, St. Michael-Albertville. The junior goaltender made 46 saves as the Knights defeated Roseau 4-1 on Jan. 24, the seventh time this season he’s faced 40 or more shots. The lone goal he gave up was on a penalty kill. 

Top performer candidates

Blake Biondi, Hermantown. The senior forward led the Hawks to three wins last week, defeating Hibbing/Chisholm 8-1 on Jan. 21, Proctor 6-0 on Jan. 23, and Holy Family Catholic 4-2 on Jan. 25. He recorded a hat trick plus an assist against Hibbing/Chisholm, two goals coming on the power play and one short-handed. He scored another power-play goal plus an assist against Procter, and finished out his nine point week at Holy Family Catholic with two goals and a short-handed assist. Averaging 3.11 points per game, Biondi leads the Hawks with 30 goals and 56 point this season.

Hunter Burian, Princeton. The senior goaltender faced a season-high 63 shots on Jan. 21, leading the Tigers to a 5-4 overtime win at Breck. Burian posted a .937 save percentage while facing more than double the amount of shots as his opposing goaltender. 

Campbell Cichosz, Albert Lea. The senior defenseman recorded seven points in the Tigers’ 11-2 win at Austin on Jan. 21. Cichosz tallied two assists and a goal during the first half of the first period. He then took advantage of the Tigers’ five power plays, scoring twice and assisting on two more goals with the advantage.

Ben Diedrich, Waseca. The Bluejays had a perfect week, earning three wins in three close games. First the Bluejays defeated Winona 3-2 in overtime on Jan. 20 as Diedrich made 24 saves. Against Luverne, Diedrich stopped 30 of 32 shots, posting a season-high .938 save percentage as the Bluejays won 4-2 on Jan. 23. To finish the week, at Albert Lea he made a season-high 56 saves as the Bluejays edged Albert Lea 5-4 on Jan. 25.

Shane Donovan, Northern Lakes. The senior forward, leading the Lightning in assists (31) and points (50) through 19 games, extended his team lead in those categories during wins at Prairie Centre (7-3 on Jan. 21) and against Crookston (9-4 on Jan. 23). Donovan tallied four points at Prairie Centre, recording a hat trick and one power-play assist. Against Crookston, he recorded another hat trick plus three assists, including one on a power play. 

Jase Jensen, Breckenridge/Wahpeton. Jensen registered an impressive eight points to lead the Blades’ 8-5 win at Park Rapids on Jan. 23. The senior forward scored a season-high six goals, including one on the power play, and added two assists in the win. The offensive outburst came after Jensen's previous season high was three points. He scored three goals in the first period before adding his two assists in the second. He then finished with his final three goals in the third, including two within 16 seconds in the waning minutes.

Christian Kadolph, Brainerd. The senior defenseman recorded six points, double his previous high this season, as the Warriors defeated Bemidji 6-3 on Jan. 21 and snapped a three-game losing streak. He tallied two power-play assists during the second period within 1 minute, 1 second of each other. Kadolph leads his team with 15 assists, and is one shy of the team lead with 21 points.

Zach Kubicek, Owatonna. Kubicek, a junior forward, had season highs in goals (4) and points (6) as the Huskies defeated Rochester John Marshall 10-1 on Jan. 23. He got the Huskies on the board 11 seconds into the game and scored twice more that period, including once on the power play. He also tallied his two assists in the opening period for five points in the game's first 17 minutes. He completed his scoring with another power-play marker with just 2 seconds left in the second period.

Dylan Strate, St. Francis. The junior forward scored a season-high four goals as the Knights defeated Duluth Marshall 4-3 in overtime on Jan. 23. Strate opened the scoring in the first period, giving the Knights a 2-0 lead after one. After Duluth Marshall made a comeback and led the Knights 3-2 late in the third, Strate scored on the power play with just 1 minute, 5 seconds left to tie the game. He then scored the overtime game winner with 12 seconds left in the bonus period.
