Top games: Fridley's brick-wall defense faces twin scoring machines from Minneapolis North

We task our reporters with identifying several intriguing games throughout the state to assemble our Top Games of the Week. The matchups are presented in no particular order, and when there are additional games we want to highlight, we’ll include them with brief notes.



Other games to keep an eye on

Litchfield vs. Albany, 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 6. No. 8-3A Litchfield (4-0, 4-0) features senior quarterback Ben Alsleben who has passed for 933 yards. No. 3-3A Albany (4-0, 2-0), meanwhile, got a passing and rushing touchdown from senior quarterback Isaiah Gerads in the Huskies' 42-7 triumph over Kasson-Mantorville last week. 

Barnesville vs. Breckenridge, 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 6. No. 5-2A Barnesville (4-0, 2-0) goes down a class — in enrollment size only — to take on high-powered No. 8-1A Breckenridge (4-0, 1-0) in a matchup of northwestern Minnesota powerhouses, as Barnesville has seven state tournament appearances and Breckenridge has 13.
