RICHFIELD, Minn. -- Benilde-St. Margarets' junior varsity ended a two-game losing streak by collecting an 8-1 win at Holy Angels.

The Red Knights wasted little time in jumping out in front as Ryan Baird scored the first of BSM's four first-period goals just one minute, 32 seconds into the contest.

Will Sherod, who scored his first goal as a Red Knight, and Ben Norris, scored goals 53 seconds apart a few minutes later and, with 57 seconds remaining in the opening frame, Mitchell West made it a 4-0 game entering the first intermission.

The second period opened with another early goal as West scored 1:25 into the frame with Nick Graczyk and Norris sandwiching goals around the Stars' lone tally to enter the third period with running time and a 7-1 lead.

Mitchell West scored two goals for the third time this season.

The final period went quickly and BSM scored the lone goal of the final 15 minutes as Charlie Hoch tallied on the game's lone power play, 2:07 into that session.

Charlie Winegarner won his third game in three starts this season, stopping nine of the 10 shots he faced as BSM held a 44-10 advantage in shots on goal.

Next up for the Red Knights is Wednesday's home finale for 2020-21 as they host Wayzata. Game time is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the St. Louis Park Rec Center.
