First Report

Gentry Academy's offense picked up where it left off from last season in a 9-2 season-opening victory over visiting Duluth Denfeld Friday.

Max VonKlinggraeff and Reese Shaw each scored two goals for the Stars (1-0) in their first game back since last year's Class 1A championship season. Shaw led with four points on the night, assisting on two other goals.

Shane Dean, Brendon Hammer, Kaden Milles and Ethan Joshi added one goal each for a fast-start Stars’ offense that scored three goals in the first period, including one 48 seconds after the first faceoff.

The Hunters (1-2) received goals from Jacob Jarvi and Andy Larson in the loss.
