And the winner is...MN Hockey Hub Top Performer revealed

Top performer winner

Matt Filippi, Little Falls. The junior forward led the Flyers’ comeback win against Alexandria on Dec. 7, recording points on six of the team’s seven goals. Trailing 5-0 midway through the second period, Filippi recorded a goal and two assists to cut the Flyers’ deficit to three goals and a 6-3 score by the end of the second period. Filippi added another goal and assist in the third period to bring the Flyers within one goal with just over a minute remaining in the third. After the Flyers tied the game with less than a minute left and sent the game going to overtime, Filippi fed a shorthanded pass to a teammate who scored to give the Flyers the 7-6 victory.

Top performer candidates

Bryce Hess, Holy Angels. The senior goaltender turned aside 36 shots on Dec. 7, including five in the overtime period as the Stars defeated Holy Family 2-1. Hess posted a .973 save percentage in the win and boasts a 1.56 goals against average and .944 save percentage through five games this season.

James Koecher, Princeton. Koecher faced 58 shots in the Tigers’ matchup against Pine City Area on Dec. 10. The junior goaltender made 55 saves for a .948 save percentage in his second game of the season, earning the win in net to back the Tigers' 6-3 victory.

Jaksen Panzer, East Grand Forks. The junior forward led two Green Wave victories last week, one by a large margin and one by a narrow victory. The Green Wave defeated Crookston 14-0 on Dec. 7 behind eight points from Panzer. He recorded a hat trick and added five assists, including one on a power play and one shorthanded. Two nights later, Panzer recorded points on all three of the Green Wave’s goals. Panzer got the scoring started on a power play in the first period. Trailing by a goal going into the final period, Panzer tallied two third-period assists, including on the game-winner on a power play with less than four minutes left, as the Green Wave defeated Grand Forks Central 3-2.

Austin Uecker, New Ulm. The sophomore forward recorded 10 points through two Eagles victories last week. On Dec. 7, Uecker tallied two goals, his first shorthanded five minutes into the game, and two assists to lead the Eagles' 7-1 victory against Redwood Valley. Uecker then recorded four goals — including two on power plays and one shorthanded — and two assists as the Eagles defeated Fairmont 9-2 on Dec. 9
