Hayden DeMars' slap shot from the left hashmarks was picture perfect. It went through a defender's legs on the way to the back of the Eden Prairie net.
And, just like that, No. 9-2A Grand Rapids' three-game losing streak was over. DeMars' goal, his third of the season, gave the Thunderhawks a 4-3 overtime victory on Day 2 of the Edina Holiday Classic at Braemar Ice Arena.
DeMars "came down and just snapped it off and it was just a beautiful shot," Grand Rapids coach Wade Chiodo said.

Hayden DeMars' shot from the left hash marks went through a defender's legs and then past the goaltender to lift Grand Rapids to a 4-3 overtime victory over Eden Prairie during the Edina Holiday Classic at Braemar Ice Arena.
DeMars' goal snapped a three-game losing streak for No. 9-2A Grand Rapids, which lost 5-1 to host Edina the night before. The Thunderhawks (6-3) take on Elk River/Zimmerman on Saturday night. Eden Prairie, which saw a three-game winning streak come to an end, plays No. 1-2A Edina on Saturday in the tournament finale.
Eden Prairie led 3-2 midway through the third period when Joey DelGreco, the Thunderhawks' leading scorer with 10 goals and 13 assists in nine games, scored to even the game and give Grand Rapids a chance to win in overtime.
The Eagles' top two scorers provided much of the punch for Eden Prairie. Jake Luloff (seven goals, six assists) had two goals and an assist; Ryan Andor (four goals, nine assists) had a goal and two assists.
