Top performer winner

Nick Erickson, Hill-Murray. The senior goaltender has been playing solid in net for the Pioneers, backstopping consecutive wins last week behind 78 total saves. The Pioneers defeated Wayzata 2-1 on Dec. 15 as Erickson made a season-high 40 saves for a .976 save percentage. On Dec. 18, Erickson earned his first shutout of the season in the Pioneers’ 6-0 victory against St. Thomas Academy, turning aside 38 shots. In the shutout, he was also credited with an assist on the Pioneers’ fifth goal.

Top performer candidates

Eli Fletcher, Prairie Centre. The junior forward nearly doubled his season points total from his first six games during the North Stars’ 8-2 victory against Willmar on Dec. 16. After recording seven points through six games, Fletcher tallied six points in the North Stars' win. He recorded two goals and an assist in the first period, followed by two more goals in the second, including one shorthanded, and a final goal in the third.

Easton Hammill, Dodge County. The senior defenseman ranked third on his team last year with 27 points through 24 games, averaging just over one point per game, and has continued that offensive success this season with a team-leading 13 points through six games. Hammill scored five goals and added a pair of assists on Dec. 17 as the Wildcats defeated Minnesota River 13-1. Hammill assisted on the Wildcats' first goal then scored his first mid-way through the first period while shorthanded before completing a hat trick with 10 seconds left in the first period. He added a second shorthanded tally and power play goal in the second period.

John Kisch, Eastview. The junior forward recorded a season-high four points on Dec. 14, all assists during the second period of the Lightning's 4-1 win at Prior Lake. Kisch led the Lightning’s successful 3-for-4 power play crew, assisting on all three of those power play goals. After only four Lightning shots on goal in the first period, Kisch and the Lightning recorded four goals on 12 shots in the second period, including the first just 12 seconds into the period.

Blake Lueck, Spring Lake Park. The senior forward led the Panthers to wins on back-to-back nights against Coon Rapids, recording nine points. The Panthers hosted the Cardinals on Dec. 14, as Lueck recorded three goals and an assist in the 5-4 victory. The next night the Panthers traveled to Coon Rapids, and defeated the Cardinals again, this time 6-4. Lueck tallied another hat trick and added two assists, with two of those points coming on power plays.
