And the winner is...MN Hockey Hub Top Performer revealed

Athletes are considered for the weekly top performer poll only if their stats are entered on the MN Hockey Hub by 10 a.m. on Sundays. If coaches or members of their staffs need access to enter stats, please email mnhubs@sportngin.com.


Top performer winner

Damian VanDanacker, St. Paul Johnson. The senior goaltender earned his first shutout of the season on Jan. 4, making a season-high 49 saves to back the Governors’ 2-0 win at St. Paul Highland Park and help the team snap a four-game losing streak.

Top performer candidates

Harper Bentz, Moorhead. The Spuds extended their winning streak to six games last week, thanks in part to Bentz’s 11 points in two wins. The junior forward recorded a season-high four goals, all scored in the first period, and added one assist in the Spuds’ 10-0 rout of Brainerd on Jan. 4. On Jan. 8, Bentz tallied a hat trick plus three assists for six points as the Spuds defeated St. Cloud 8-1.

Jack Doda, Crookston. The Pirates earned their first win of the season on Jan. 6 behind a season-high seven goals in a 7-4 victory at Park Rapids. Doda led the Pirates’ offense with his second multi-point game of the season, recording season highs in goals (3), assists (3) and points (6). The junior forward scored all of his goals in the second period, including his second shorthanded.

Jake Harris, Hastings. The Raiders had a two-win week last week, defeating Anoka and Northfield, led by Harris’ offense. The senior forward, who has recorded 20 points in his last five games, had a season-high five points in the Raiders' Jan. 4 victory against Anoka. Harris scored a pair of goals, including one shorthanded, and added three assists in the win. On Jan. 8 at Northfield, Harris commanded the Raiders’ 4-for-7 power play, assisting on all four of the power play goals to lead the 6-2 win.

Tyler Seeling, Northern Lakes. The senior forward more than doubled his season goals total during the Lightning’s 8-4 defeat of Pine City Area on Jan. 4 as he scored six goals to catapult his season total to 13. Seeling completed his first hat trick of the season late in the first period. After netting his second goal of the game on a power play late in the period, he followed up with his third goal just 17 seconds later. Held off the score sheet in the second period, Seeling completed a second hat trick in the third period, including a shorthanded goal and his second power play goal of the game.
