And the winner is...MN Hockey Hub Top Performer revealed

Top performer winner

Charlie Eischens, St. Paul Highland Park. The senior forward is averaging over two points per game nearly a month into the season and has helped the Scots to a 5-0-1 record in its last six games. The Scots boasted a pair of 7-2 road victories last week, one each against Simley and Mora/Milaca. Eischens tallied nine points on the week, recording a hat trick in each win and adding three total assists. He was a consistent presence on the Scots’ power play, helping the team go 5-for-9 on power plays last week with two goals and two assists. 

Top performer candidates

Cooper Conway, Andover.  In the first of two late-game comebacks for the Huskies last week, the senior forward led a 3-2 overtime win against Champlin Park on Dec. 15. Trailing by two goals with less than five minutes to play in the third period, Conway assisted on a pair of Husky goals to tie the game and send it to overtime. In the extra period, Conway found the back of the net for his game-high third point, sealing the 3-2 overtime victory.

Conway followed that game with another three-point performance two nights later. He led a 2-for-3 power play unit, tallying one goal and one assist. He also assisted on the Huskies’ third goal of the game which came with less than one minute left in third period, which tied the game and sent it to overtime as the Huskies tied Wayzata 3-3.

Connor Doyle, Duluth Denfeld. The junior goaltender backed two Hunters wins last week, making 61 saves on 64 shots between the two games. Doyle posted a .943 save percentage in the Hunters’ 5-2 victory against Rock Ridge on Dec. 13, making 33 saves. On Dec. 17, Doyle stopped 28 shots for a season-high .966 save percentage as the Hunters defeated Superior 3-1.

Tyler Hennen, Kittson County Central. The senior forward has continued his offensive prowess from a year ago when he averaged nearly three points per game during his junior campaign. Despite a modest record of 4-4 in the early goings for the Bearcats, Hennen already has an impressive 41 points through eight games. He recorded 10 points between two games last week, tallying three goals and three assists in the Bearcats’ 8-7 victory at Red Lake Falls—including the game-tying and overtime goals—and two goals and two assists in an 8-5 loss to International Falls.

Cody Joslyn, International Falls. After starting the season with zero points through the Broncos’ first three losses, the senior defenseman exploded for seven points in their 12-3 rout of Ely on Dec. 13. Joslyn notched a pair of goals and five assists to lead the Broncos’ offense. He added another four points against Kittson County Central on Dec. 17, scoring once and adding three assists—including one shorthanded—in the 8-5 victory.
