White Bear Lake forward Brady Borgestad will likely remember his first game on the Bears’ top line.

The senior captain tallied a goal and an assist, including the game-winner, as the Bears clawed back from a deficit to topple host Totino-Grace 5-3 Tuesday night.

Promoted from the second line as the team juggled some combinations, Borgestad made the most of his opportunities playing with linemates Aiden Welch and Nolan Roed as the three effectively took charge of the third period.

“We played together all summer, and we’ve already had a bit of chemistry going,” Borgestad said. “It felt really good to get it going tonight. Everything was clicking.”

First Report

White Bear Lake rallied from a deficit to top host Totino-Grace Tuesday night 5-3 at Brooklyn Park Community Center.

The Bears (5-2), ranked No. 17-2A in this week’s coaches’ poll never led until the final 10 minutes, when a three-goal third period moved the momentum permanently in their favor.

Senior forward Brady Borgstad finished with a goal and assist, and netted the eventual game-winner with 9:02 remaining.

Totino-Grace got a pair of first-period goals from sophomore forward Ben Box, both assisted by linemate Tre Peck. Peck scored the Eagles (2-3) third goal in the second period to tally his game-high three points.

White Bear Lake outshot their hosts heavily, pouring on 48 to Totino-Grace’s 27. Wes Johnson made 43 saves for the Eagles.
