The game was played at a torrid scoring pace until the Raiders broke a 5-5 tie in the third period to beat the Ponies.

Jake Fisher skates through his senior season with a bullseye on his back the size of a bus tire.

Indeed, expectations were high from the start for the University of Northern Michigan commit, but the four-year varsity regular at Cretin-Derham Hall has done little to disappoint.

This past fall, Fisher was good for a goal and two points per game in the ultra-competitive Upper Midwest High School Elite League, almost setting a league scoring record in the process. Thirteen games into the high school season, Fisher is on an even more torrid pace, picking up his 15th goal and 27th point while playing hero in the Raiders’ 7-5 victory over visiting Stillwater Thursday night at Highland Arena.

First Report

Jake Fisher and Chuck Owens each scored a pair of goals to help guide Cretin-Derham Hall to a 7-5 victory over Stillwater Thursday evening at Highland Ice Center.

The Raiders (9-4-0), ranked No. 7 in the Jan. 1 Class 2A coaches’ poll, had to fight back from as many as two down, and rallied with a pair in the third to knock off the red-hot Ponies, winners of six-straight coming in.

With an assist as well, Fisher’s points total reaches 27 for the season with 15 goals to his credit through 13 games.

Ty Tuccitto and Brody Dustin each finished with a goal and an assist for Stillwater (6-2-0).
