Red Knights "10 Run" Cooper Hawks

Oh yeah, I forgot there is no mercy rule for high school hockey. Benilde beat Cooper by a score of 21 - 0, kinda mercilessly. Really? Is BSM that good, or is Cooper that bad? Is it a combination of both? It's not like the Red Knights ran over Cooper with their powerful and skilled top elite players.  Those players actually seemed to hold back somewhat. I guess my biggest question would be: is it necessary to humiliate another team by running up a ridiculous score like that? What kind of message or point does that make? I really wonder where sportsmanship gets lost, after 10, 15, 20 goals perhaps? At what point does a victory actually start feeling bad? The Hawks will pick themselves up, dust themselves off & go on to the rest of their season. Today the humiliation & utter defeat will leave them a little dismayed, but they're not gonna quit & they have another game Tuesday against Chisago Lakes where they'll lace 'em up again. The Hawks had a bad day, but tomorrow will be another "great day for hockey".
