• MINNETONKA 5, EDINA 4 (OT): After the Skippers lost a two-goal lead in the waning moments of regulation, senior forward Sam Rothstein drilled home a one-timer from the slot 42 seconds into overtime, helping Class 2A, No. 2 Minnetonka slip out of Braemar Arena with a dramatic 5-4 victory over Class 2A, No. 5 Edina on Saturday. It was Rothstein's third goal and fourth point of the game. Linemate Erik Baskin also had four points on a goal and three assists. Freshman forward Dylan Malmquist scored twice for the Hornets and set up Connor Hurley on a give-and-go feed for the tying goal with 1:40 remaining in the third. The victory gave Minnetonka a 2-1 edge in the season series between the two Lake Conference rivals. The Skippers pounded the Hornets 6-0 in the Schwan Cup on Dec. 27 but lost 3-2 at home on Jan. 19.

• BRECK 6, ROCHESTER LOURDES 3: A fast start proved to be the difference for the Class 1A, No. 4 Mustangs in a nonconference game. The Mustangs jumped to a 3-0 lead after the first period, based largely on a 16-4 advantage in shots on goal, then hung on despite being outshot 29-12 the rest of the way. Breck senior captain Conor Andrle scored two goals and had two assists and senior goalie Jack Kenney had 30 saves in the victory.

• MAPLE GROVE 3, CENTENNIAL 0: Senior goalie Kyle Koop earned his second shutout of the season for Class 2A, No. 3 Maple Grove, stopping 26 Centennial shots in a Northwest Suburban matchup. Crimson junior defenseman Jordan Gross scored what turned out to be the game-winner on a power play with 11 seconds remaining in the second period.

• WAYZATA 4, BUFFALO 1: Class 2A, No. 9 Wayzata needed three third-period goals -- two from senior forward Sam Majika -- to hold off Buffalo (6-13). The Trojans had a 36-13 edge in shots, but Bison senior goaltender Blake Schmidt kept the game close with 32 saves.
