Tom Monteiro's 20th goal of the season and his second in the game was the game winner for Cooper with 1:22 left on the clock in the third in an evenly matched game that provided good entertainment for the crowd.  John Lewis tallied his first varsity point assisting on the last goal of the game.  He also cleared his zone putting the puck high off the glass, a feat some had bet he could never do in a game - John's game is much improved. Angel Hillstrom stopped 23 of 24 shots in a solid performance in goal.

Jordan Peer of the Eagles scored his 7th goal of the season on a power play mid-way through the first period. Kennedy was able to hold the lead through the second, but Monteiro broke the ice for the Hawks early in the third slapping home a nice pass from Sam Morgen.

Maybe it wasn't State Tournament caliber play, but it was a great high school game where both teams played hard and had fun.  The Cooper band was also on hand to complete that great high school atmosphere that makes a game like this memorable.
