Even though Brainerd (20-4) outshot Moorhead 33-25 in the Spud's victory on Tuesday, Feb. 14, Moorhead (18-5) capitalized well on chances, scoring three goals in the third period to seal a win. The loss hurt Brainerd's chances at a No. 2 seed in section 8-2A, and Moorhead put a tight grip around the No. 1 seed with the victory. The loss was Brainerd's first defeat in 10 games.
