Moorhead pulls out close game, advances to state

Brainerd gave Moorhead its best effort in an attempt to unseat the perennial powerhouse Spuds on Thursday, March 1 at the Sanford Center in Bemidji. 

The Warriors took a tie game late into the third period before Moorhead's Logan Ness capitalized on Brainerd penalty trouble to give the Spuds a lead. 

Moorhead would score another empty netter to seal the Section 8AA championship and send the Spuds to the state tournament.
