Team outscores opponents 21-2 as it wins all three of its games

Section 4 & 7 won its three games by a combined score of 21-2 as Minnesota Hockey held its third annual High Performance U-18 Festival on March 30-April 1 at Wakota Arena in South St. Paul.

Four teams comprised of next year's seniors played in a round robin tournament showcasing talent from across the state.

Scouts from junior and college teams from throughout the nation attended the event.

Included in a dominant Section 4 & 7 group of forwards were Jake Guentzel of Hill-Murray, T.J. Roo of Totino-Grace, Zach LaValle of Hill-Murray, Alex Thompson of Duluth Denfeld, Nick Anderson of Stillwater and Cody Mann of Grand Rapids.

The team was also solid on defense led by Meirs Moore of Duluth East, Lance Carney of White Bear Lake and Wyatt Schmidt of St. Thomas Academy.

St. Thomas Academy's David Zvenik and Duluth Denfeld's Zach Thompson backstopped the tournament's best team by only allowing a combined two goals on the weekend.

Section 1 & 3 went 2-1 on the weekend with tough wins over Section 5 & 8 and Section 2 & 6. Section 1 & 3 was led offensively by strong play from Eagan forwards Will Peterson and Zach Glienke.

Section 2 & 6 ended the weekend 1-2 with a 7-6 comeback win over Section 5 & 8 to conclude the weekend, fueled by Edina's Anthony Walsh's hat trick.

Section 5 & 8 finished with an 0-3 record but got solid play from defensemen Jake Zeleznikar of Hermantown and Chris Forney of Thief River Falls.
