Taylor Freiermuth

Senior Taylor Freiermuth would like to help the Northfield boys' hockey team accomplish a first in the history of the program -- a trip to the state tournament.

Freiermuth is the second-leading goal scorer with 12 for the Raiders, who finished third in the Missota Conference. They are the No. 4 seed in the Class 1A, Section 1 playoffs.

He also played football in the fall and will play baseball in the spring for the Raiders. Here is a closer look at Freiermuth:

The best movie I've seen in the last year? "Paranormal Activity 4."

Three songs I never skip on my iPod are ... "Enter Sandman" by Metallica, "Fireman" by Lil' Wayne, "Hells Bells" by AC/DC.

What are your three favorite apps? Family Feud; Bike Race; Black Jack.

Who do you like to follow the most on Twitter, and why? Unusual Questions. It asks questions that are very interesting about the world and really makes me think.

Three words or phrases my friends or teammates might use to describe me? Goofy; hard-working; smart.

How did you get started playing sports? I grew up watching and playing with my brother and sister.

At my first varsity practice, I felt ... very anxious and ready to start the season.

To get focused for a game, I ... listen to my iPod and visualize making plays.

What is your favorite pre-game meal? Chicken alfredo.

I know I have an edge on an opponent when ... I am winning races to all pucks, first one off the ball or crowding the plate in baseball.

What do you work on most in the offseason? I will be working on my hockey skills to try to play hockey after high school.

What is your most memorable moment as a high school athlete? Pulling off big wins with all my best buddies.

Who is your school's biggest rival, and why? Faribault or New Prague. I don't know why, it just has been that way since I was born.

If you could change one thing about high school sports, what would it be? Nothing. It's fine the way it is.

How do you balance school and sports during the year? It's tough with homework, but I manage to do very well with school along with having plenty of time for sports.

When you have time off, what do you like to do? I like to gamble with my buddies, also going to the casino and playing blackjack.

Who is your favorite college or pro sports team and why? The Minnesota Wild because I grew up watching them and got to know the team, the environment and players.

In 10 years, I hope I'm ... married with a good job, house and kids.

Do you have a secret talent - and if so, what is it? I am an amazing juggler, and won three talent shows for it.

What is the best sports advice you ever received? "Going hard is the key to success."
