Lakeville South wasn't short on opportunity, but couldn't topple top-seeded Lakeville North

CLASS 2A
• SECTION 1: Lakeville South wasn't short on opportunity Thursday night in Rochester, but couldn't topple top-seeded Lakeville North, losing 6-3. The Cougars had four power play chances and took more shots on goal than their cross-town rivals, but couldn't stop North. The Panthers, which were led by Jack Diercks' and Nick Poehling's two scores each, advance to the state tournament for the third time in the last four years. Will Dupont stopped 36 shots for Lakeville North in the win.
