Q: What is the best movie you’ve seen in the last year?

A: “Goon.”

Q: Three words my friends or teammates might use to describe me?

A: Energetic; talkative; determined.

Q: Three songs I never skip on my iPod are …

A: … “Lose Yourself” by Eminem, “Holy Grail” by Jay Z, and “Party in the USA” by Miley Cyrus.

Q: What are your three favorite apps?

A: Twitter; The Hockey News; and Tiger Woods PGA Tour ’12.

Q: Who do you like to follow the most on Twitter, and why?

A: Peoria Mustangs (@PeoriaMustangs) to keep tabs on my brother, Andrew, and see how he is doing. [The Mustangs are a Tier III Junior A hockey team in the North American 3 Hockey League.]

Q: How did you get started playing hockey?

A: My dad got me into hockey at a young age.

Q: At my first varsity practice, I felt …

A: ... exhausted, but still excited and nervous.

Q: What did you work on most prior to the start of the season?

A: Strength, speed and shot.

Q: What are your goals for the upcoming hockey season?

A: To finish in the top four in our section, and top three in the last year of the Missota Conference.

A: Spaghetti the night before, and Jimmy John’s the day of our game.

A: I try to get most of my school work done early, so I can focus on hockey when it’s finished.

Q: Who is your school’s biggest rival, and why?

A: I would say either Rochester Lourdes or Faribault. Rochester Lourdes because it has eliminated us from the section playoffs the last two years, and Faribault because it’s a border battle.

Q: If you could change one thing about high school sports, what would it be?

A: I wish the winter season would last longer, if not go all year.

Q: Who is your favorite college or pro sports team and why?

A: The Minnesota Gophers because they’re always one of the top teams in the nation, so it’s fun to watch.

Q: Do you have a secret talent — and if so, what is it?

A: I’m a very skilled Ping-Pong player.

Q: What is the best sports advice you ever received?
