Hazlett

The forward is a captain for the South Suburban Conference-leading Panthers boys’ hockey team. Here is a closer look at Hazlett, who is the third-leading scorer for Lakeville North:

The best movie you’ve seen in the last year? “The Wolf of Wall Street.”

Three songs I never skip on my iPod are … “The Man” by Aloe Blacc; “Lose Yourself” by Eminem; “Not Afraid” by Eminem.

Three words your friends or teammates might use to describe you: Funny; hardworking; smooth.

At my first varsity practice, I felt … a little nervous, but mainly just excited to start playing a higher level of hockey.

What did you work on most before the start of the season? In the offseason, I try to get bigger, faster and stronger. I also shoot as many pucks as I can.

What are your goals for the remainder of the season? Lead my team to a state championship.

What is your most memorable moment as a high school athlete? Playing in the state tournament my freshman year and taking fifth place.

If you could change one thing about high school sports, what would it be? Definitely make the seasons longer because they go by too fast.

How do you balance school and sports during the year? I try to get as much done during free time at school, so I don’t have homework.

Do you have a secret talent — and if so, what is it? Drawing.

What is the best sports advice you ever received? Hard work will eventually pay off.
