Eagan senior Max Elsenheimer still has two goals he would like to accomplish before the end of the school year: to lead the Wildcats boys’ hockey and lacrosse teams to the state tournament.

Elsenheimer is the fifth-leading scorer for the hockey team, which finished the regular season with an overall record of 15-9-1. The Wildcats tied for fifth place in the South Suburban Conference.

Elsenheimer, who serves as a captain for both teams, is a center on the hockey squad and a midfielder for the lacrosse team in the spring.

Here is a closer look at Elsenheimer:

Q: What is the best movie you’ve seen in the last year?

A: “The Wolf of Wall Street.”

Q: Three songs I never skip on my iPod are

A: … “Semi-Charmed Life” by Third Eye Blind; “She’s So Mean” by Matchbox 20; and “Vienna” by Billy Joel.

Q: What are your three favorite apps?

A: Twitter; 8tracks; and Snapchat.

Q: Who do you like to follow the most on Twitter, and why?

A: FollowThePuck because he posts scores and updates from all the high school hockey games in Minnesota right after they happen.

Q: Three words my friends or teammates might use to describe me?

A: Trustworthy; tough; intense.

Q: How did you get started playing hockey and lacrosse?

A: I started playing hockey because my favorite movie was “The Mighty Ducks.” I started lacrosse because it’s a fast and physical game, just like hockey.

Q: At my first varsity practice, I felt

A: … completely out of my league.

Q: What did you work on most prior to the start of the hockey season?

A: My stickhandling because it definitely needed improvement.

Q: To get focused for a game, I

A: … stay loose by joking around with teammates, juggling a soccer ball, and playing my 1990s music playlist.

Q: What is your favorite pregame meal?

A: Chicken with a Snickers bar and a hot cup of coffee.

Q: What is your most memorable moment as an athlete?

A: Skating in front of thousands of fans as a sophomore at the Class 2A state tournament at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.

Q: Who is your school’s biggest rival, and why?

A: Eastview. We always seem to meet up in the section tournament and the games are always intense and the closest games of the season.

Q: How do you balance school and sports during the year?

A: I don’t get a lot of sleep, and I have to stay really focused and organized to make it all work.

Q: In 10 years, I hope I’m

A: … working, yet still exploring the world.

Q: Do you have a secret talent — and if so, what is it?

A: I can make some pretty good sushi.

Q: What is the best sports advice you ever received?

A: Don’t do anything unless you do it with passion.
