KASSON — Dodge County went toe-to-toe with one of the few unbeaten boys hockey teams remaining in the state and nearly came out on top, falling just 3-2 to St. Paul Como Park.

KASSON — Dodge County went toe-to-toe with one of the few unbeaten boys hockey teams remaining in the state and nearly came out on top, falling just 3-2 to St. Paul Como Park.

 
 
 

Nic Leisen and Ben Colvin scored in the first 3:28 of the game for a 2-0 Dodge County (2-7-0 overall) lead.

Como Park (9-0-0) answered with goals from Nick Kopic and Peter Dadlez in the final 5:04 of the first to tie it 2-2. Ian Tully scored the game-winning goal late in the second period.

Mitch Sobotta made 21 saves in the loss for Dodge County, while Carter McCoy had 20 saves for Como Park.

Dodge County plays at Richfield on Saturday.
