Last Second Goal Sets Up Overtime Win for Rebels Boys Varsity.

With just one second left in the third period Bryceton Butkiewicz scored the tying goal for the Moose Lake Area Rebels Boys Varsity hockey Team vs. Ely bringing the game into overtime. Butkiewicz then went on to score the winning goal in overtime completing his Hat Trick for the game during the North Shore Holiday Tournament.

Teddy Ryan scored the first goal of the game, a power play goal for the Rebels at 7:23 in the first period. Ely also scored a goal at 10:15 with the first period ending 1-1.

At 3:36 in the second and again at 3:42 Ely put two more goals in leaving the score 1-3. At 6:30 Butkiewicz scored with assists from Wyatt Lampel and Richie Parzy bringing the Rebels to within one. 13:35 in the second period Ely scored ending the second period 2-4.

1:41 into the third period Teddy Ryan scored his second goal of the game bringing the Rebels to within one. At the time of 2:50 short handed, Jesse Granfors with and assist by Butkiewicz, scored for the Rebels tying the game at 4-4. Parzy with an assist from Devin Murphy at 7:33 gave the Rebels a 5-4 lead. Ely came back at 13:34 and 15:15 to tie and then take the lead back 5-6. At 16:59 Butkiewicz scored for the Rebels bringing the game into overtime. 4:22 in overtime Butkiewicz scored the winning goal giving the Rebels a 7-6 win over Ely. Logan McNulty had 32 saves in goal for the Rebels. The Rebels will face Ely two more times Jan 23rd at Ely and Feb 13th at home.
