Rebels Beat the Scots of St. Paul Highland Park

Strong second period leads to a win for the Moose Lake Area Rebel Boys Hockey.

Coming into this game the Rebels were outscored 42-12 for the season so far in the second period. This game proved to be very different as the Rebels scored 4 unanswered goals in the second period to take the lead and the eventual win over the St. Paul Highland Park Scots.

Senior captain,  Jesse Granfors scored the first goal of the game at 2:29 in the first period assisted by senior captain, Asa Spicer. At 4:06 and again at 5:57 the Scots scored leaving the Rebels down by a goal at the end of the first.

At 0:58 into the second period Sophomore captain Bryceton Butkiewicz tied the game with an assist from Spicer. Then at 8:05 Butkiewicz scored again with assists from Junior Joey Whited, and Sophomore Wyatt Lampel. At 8:55 Junior Richie Parzy added the third goal of the period for the Rebels bringing the score 4-2. A short handed goal by Butkiewicz at 9:53 gave him a hat trick, and ended the scoring for the second period 5-2.

The first goal of the third period came from the Scots at 3:05. Four minutes later Lampel scored in a power play with assists from Butkiewicz and Granfors. At 8:07 Butkiewicz on a power play, scored his forth goal giving the Rebels a 7-3 lead. The last goal of the game came from the Scots at 9:41 making the final score 7-4. Come on down to Riverside Arena and cheer on the Rebels for their next home games. Thursday Jan 15th  vs. Proctor at 7pm and Saturday Jan 17th vs. Becker/Big Lake at 1pm.
