Entering the final week of the Minnesota boys’ high school hockey regular season, most of the big questions have been answered — at least until the playoffs begin. Section seeding has largely taken shape, most conference championships are wrapped up and last year’s state Class 2A finalists (Lakeville North and Edina) appear to again be on a collision course for a matchup in the state tournament.

But that doesn’t mean there isn’t still intrigue. Many of the top contenders for state tourney berths meet this week. Coaches are keen on momentum entering the playoffs, making it a big week.

Eden Prairie has been one of the fastest rising teams in February, winning five of six games to earn a top-5 spot in the Class 2A coaches poll.

The Eagles visit powerhouse Edina on Valentine’s Day, but there will be no love lost between these rivals, which is the reason this contest gets the nod as our final regular season Game of the Week.
