Former Red Wing, U of M standout Pohl retires

With pro career over, he takes teaching position at Cretin-Derham Hall

Former Red Wing star Johnny Pohl, who had 23 goals and 36 assists last season for the American Hockey League's Chicago Wolves, has retired from professional hockey.

Pohl, who also was a University of Minnesota standout, played 115 games in the NHL, all but one of them with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

He has taken a teaching position at Cretin-Derham Hall High School.
